-Rosalie’s POV-
I woke up the next day feeling much better. I was excited to see how much Wyckoff has changed since Jayden and I left… Or how it hasn’t changed. Haha.
I quickly got dressed and headed downstairs. My mom was fixing breakfast while my dad was reading the newspaper.
“Morning dad!” I said as I kissed him on the cheek while he was reading his paper.
“Morning mom!” I said to my mom as I hugged her before she handed me some waffles.
We talked about the concert and stuff that Jayden and I did since the last time they visited me, which was a few months ago.
“So I heard those Jonas boys next door went to your concert” my mom said winking at me making my dad chuckle.
How awkward.
“Yeah, they did. And we got them to sing with us on stage” I told them with a smile.
“You know, I could tell that those boys really missed you girls while you were away. Haha and I’d have to admit, I miss having to fix my flowers up front every week because Joe and Jayden would somehow manage to trample them or trip onto them” my mom laughed.
“C’mon mom, you weren’t the one to fix the flowers. You would order me and Nick to do it even if it was Joe’s and Jayden’s fault!” I laughed as I remembered how my mom would find ways to make sure Nick and I spent time together… As if we weren’t constantly beside each other! Yeah, she knew I had a crush on him.
“But you know, I like Nick. Even when you were gone, he’d sometimes find time to help me with my gardening” mom told me beaming.
Aww, I thought to myself. Maybe Nick didn’t change THAT much.
When I glanced at my watch I saw that it was almost 9 so I told my parents that I’d be heading to the Jonas house since they’d be touring us around the city.
“Ok, have fun!” my dad said as my mom winked at me again.
I grabbed my purse and walked over to the Jonas house. When I got there, everyone was ready too, so after we said goodbye to their parents and to Frankie, we made our way to Kevin’s car.
Joe and Jayden seemed to have been clicking again so I had no problem rushing to the passenger seat. As Kevin drove, I looked at them from the mirror and smiled. I’m glad they were doing okay. Maybe Joe’s getting used to Jayden being so girly now. And I’m sure he loved it anyway. Ha ha.
I let out a small giggle, not noticing that Kevin heard me.
“What’s funny?” he asked as he looked at me and smiled before looking back at the road.
“Oh.. Nothing” I said, smiling back at him.
I glanced at the mirror again, not failing to meet Nick’s eyes before he looked away and just stared outside the window.
We first got to our old school and everything looked exactly the same! Well, except for the freshly painted walls and stuff.
We first got into the elementary wing. We walked around and saw the playground we used to hang out in during recess.
“Oh man! Do you remember when I dared you to slide head first? And for some reason you managed to tumble downwards?” Jayden laughed as she talked to Joe.
“Oh yeah! And I got pissed that you were laughing at me so I dared you to climb backwards on those monkey bars and you were doing so great until you bumped your head on the last pole!” Joe laughed.
“Oh my gosh, Rosalie! Do you remember when we would always call Kevin when he was in the playground with us and his friends would tease him that a couple of ‘babies’ had a crush on him!” Jayden continued to reminisce as we all laughed.
“Man, you didn’t talk to us for days!” I said as I laughed and Jayden punched Kevin on the shoulder.
“Hey! C’mon… It was the cooties stage!” Kevin chuckled.
I noticed how Nick was silent the whole time but he was smiling a bit so I guess he was getting comfortable with Jayden and I being there.
-Nick’s POV-
It was fun hearing everyone reminisce. As much as I wanted to join in on the conversation, I decided to just listen. I couldn’t help but smile as the two girls talked about the things they remembered. Maybe things weren’t as hopeless as I thought it was. I was still a little pissed at Rosie though, but I pushed it to the back of my mind first.
We continued to walk until we reached the entrance to the high school grounds. Joe, Kevin and Jayden were again talking about their high school memories. I couldn’t share anything though because when I stepped into high school, Jayden and Rosie had already left.
“Hey guys, I think I’ll loiter around here for a bit” Rosie said as she strayed into the elementary grounds again.
“I’ll go with you!” I said, a little too quickly before even thinking about it.
She looked at me with a surprised look on her face while the others just nodded and headed off into the high school.
Rosie and I walked in silence as she continued to look around. She stopped though when we got near the quad outside the school.
“Wow, I can’t believe it’s still here!” she whispered to herself as she walked slowly to the ‘Friendship’ wall in our school. When we were in the fourth grade, our art teacher decided to have everyone in school paint their hands on to the wall. And somehow, it stayed like that over the years. She looked all over the wall, trying to find her handprint.
“Wow” she finally said as she found hers and placed her hand on top of it and giggled.
I couldn’t help but notice that our handprints were right beside each other. I remember saving that spot for her, even blocking off the big kids just to make sure we could paint our hands beside each other.
She seemed to have remembered it too. She smiled at me and quickly held my wrist, lifting my hand so I could place it on top of my hand print. We both smiled as we looked at our hands, which of course were now bigger than the ones in our painting so now our fingers were sort of touching as we placed our hands on the wall.
We looked at each other and then the awkwardness came back. We both dropped our hands and she looked at the floor while I pretended to look around.
“Nick”
“Rosie”
We both said at the same time when we finally met each other’s eyes.
“I’m sorry” we both said.
We both smiled and I opened my arms so I could give her a hug which she graciously accepted. It felt good having her in my arms again. I missed her so much. We stayed that way for a few more minutes, taking everything in and trying to forget everything that went wrong these past two years.
Little did I know that behind the bushes, someone was capturing our little moment in his camera.
C'mon girls... comment.. or bump. Haha. I'm sure this is getting views, I don't think all those views just came from me and Tay, you know. Haha! Comment comment =D
