This is a new one shot that I just finished. I was going to post it last night, but I didn't have it quite finished and so here it is, hope you enjoy!
The Miley Cyrus Factor
“Hey,” Nick mumbled through the pillow his face was smashed into. I went and sat down on the edge of his bed.
Wait…let me re-wind, every story has a beginning, and I’d better start at the beginning. “Hi, I’m Emily,” I said as I hugged Nick for the first time. I’d won a contest and got to go on a date with Nick Jonas. He went silent, very, very quiet, even for Nick. As we ate lunch he was pretty quiet. I respected his silence because I didn’t know what to say. “Can you keep a secret?” he finally asked. “Yeah, anything,” I replied. He scrawled something on a napkin. “This is my e-mail address, I can tell that you’re different and I’d like to stay in touch with you,” he said. “Ok cool!” I replied. And that’s when Nick Jonas kissed me for the first time.

“What’s up with him?” I asked Joe. It was two years later, both Nick and I were seventeen years old. He’d just walked into his room and slammed his door. “He’s upset,” Kevin said. “He had a run-in with Miley last night and he feels bad about it,” Joe added. “Oh,” I sighed. If Miley was the other factor in this situation things were sure to be sticky. “Ever since Miley leaked to Seventeen magazine every detail of their relationship he swore off girlfriends for a while, then he met you. Miley and him had a fight last night and then you showed up,” Kevin revealed. I stood up and walked into Nick’s room. “Hey,” I said. “Hey,” Nick mumbled through the pillow his face was smashed into. I went and sat down on the edge of his bed, “Listen about the Miley thing, don’t worry about it…really, I get it, I mean I know it’s hard and everything, but it doesn’t bother me,” I said. I was trying to make him feel better, but I didn’t know what to say. Nick rolled over, his face was red and tear-streaked. “Last night, Miley kissed me,” he said, “I’m sorry Emily, I didn’t mean to, she just…” he said. “Nick, sit up,” I said, he sat up, “Look at me,” he did, “Now, if you think that Miley can mess up what we have, then you’re losing it.” He smiled, “I love you.” “I love you too,” I replied giving him a kiss. “Miley will no longer affect our relationship,” he said. “Good, because you’re all mine,” I said. The kiss didn’t bother me much, they had been fighting according to Joe and Kevin. It was ok, because we were in love.

“I love you Emily, you’re an amazing wife,” Nick said. We were sitting on our couch five years later, Nick had his hand on the small bulge on my stomach. Today when we’d gone to the doctor we’d found out that this small bulge was our first child. I looked down at the wedding ring on his hand, a reminder that he was mine. I was thinking about the one moment when Miley had almost broken us up, but it hadn’t worked, we were meant to be. “Nick, do you remember when we had that little tiff about Miley?” I asked. “Yeah,” he said. “Do you remember what you told me for the first time that day?” I asked again. “That day I said I loved you. And I still love you to this day,” he said. “I love you too,” I replied smiling. “And in about seven and a half months according to the doctor, we’ll have someone else to love too,” he said rubbing my stomach again. “Yeah,” I smiled. I couldn’t imagine anything better. All these years I’d thought that the Miley Cyrus Factor (as I liked to call it) had created a glass wall between Nick and I. That he still had feelings for her in some way. I guess I was wrong because the Miley Cyrus Factor brought us closer than ever. And I wouldn’t change one second of our relationship, not for anything.
