Jonas Secrets
“You are not getting me to eat that,” The almost eighteen year old girl looked over at her boyfriend who was holding up a piece of raw fish in between chop sticks.
“Come on Steph it’s a California Roll it’s good,” her twenty one year old boyfriend replied with a slight laugh.
“Kevin there is no way I am eating fish let alone raw fish,” Kevin lets out a little laugh and puts the California Roll in his own mouth as Stephani sends him a look.
“I thought all Asians liked Fish and Rice…”
Stephani looks to the side and when Kevin’s younger brother sees the look in her eyes he holds up his hands in defense.
“You would know Joe, since you are the adopted Asian baby. I’m not sure your mom knew how to tell you, but the Asian milkman your dad.”
Kevin chokes back a laugh as Nick chokes on the piece of steak that he had just put in his mouth. Joe looks shocked and drops his lunch, a chicken cutlet. Stephani on the other hand just takes a bite of her sandwich and smiles.
After a few more silent moments, well except for the sound of Nick choking and waiting for anyone to save him, Kevin ends up smacking him on the back multiple times, Joe finally talks.
“I AM NOT ASIAN!”
“Stephani it’s not nice to call Joe Asian. You know how sensitive he is about the adoption.”
Mrs. Jonas walks into the room then and winks at Stephani, they were in together on the Joe being adopted thing, he just didn’t know it yet.
“MOM!”
Joe looks shocked at his mom and Stephani and Mrs. Jonas both have to keep straight faces on, which is hard.
“What are you eating Steph?”
Nick decides then to change the subject. Joe was almost in tears and Stephani and Mrs. Jonas are both straight faced.
“Peanut butter and cheese sandwich.”
“Woah WOAH WOAH! You won’t eat sushi but you’ll eat a peanut butter and cheese sandwich?”
Kevin looks shocked at his girlfriend as she nods her head, peanut butter and cheese sandwiches had become her fancy a few months before.
“Mom you were kidding right? I wasn’t adopted. My dad’s not an Asian milkman is he?”
At that moment Mr. Jonas walks into the room and hearing his sons words he cracks a small smile.
“I see you finally decided to tell him the truth.”
Now Joe is in tears, they are streaming down his face as everyone else lets out a little laugh. Stephani smiles and wraps her arms around the nineteen year old.
“I was only kidding love, but that is what you get for stealing my socks. I know where Nick’s socks go and my socks will not have the same fate.”
Joe blushes bright red and Nick looks at his older brother confused.
“Where do my socks go?”
Stephani laughs and takes her phone from her pocket and quickly texts Nick her response.
“JOE!”
Nick starts to beat the crap out of Joe as everyone else laughs, until Frankie talks.
“Where do Nick’s socks go?”
“No where hun,” Stephani reaches her hand down and ruffles the eight year olds hair.
“Stop treating me like I’m a little kid…” Frankie’s words come out in a whine and Stephani can’t help but smile.
“Okay Frankie. I’ll stop treating you like you’re a little kid! So you want to go go-kart racing today while your brothers are doing an interview.”
“WOAH! WOAH! WOAH NOT FAIR!”
The three oldest boys all yell and Stephani can’t help but laugh, she knew that they would want to go with them go-kart racing. Especially since Joe and Nick had an ongoing competition even though Kevin was the winner.
“I wanna go bowling!”
Frankie’s words cause Stephani to laugh, of course he did, he knew she was horrid at the sport.
“I guess we can go bowling. As long as you promise not to beat me to badly.”
“Mom! She’s just doing this cause she knows we can’t go.”
Nick’s face was in a full pout.
“What am I suppose to do about it Nick? Do you want me to call the bowling alley and find out if they will stay open ‘til midnight so that you can bowl? I mean that’s how late it will be before you get out right? And then I would have to make sure that the people working didn’t tell anyone so that we weren’t mobbed with girls, since I know how much you hate that one. Yea a lot of work to go bowling Nick.”
Stephani looks at Nick, she spoke the truth
“MINI GOLF!”
Everyone looks at Joe and after a second Stephani lets out a little laugh.
“I have the perfect idea, a way we can go mini golfing, go-kart racing and water boat racing, sorry no bowling.”
“What is your idea oh wonderful Stephani.”
“Keep it up Joseph and I’ll tell the fan girls where you hide your night stick and handcuffs.”
“Pssh what are you talking about. I don’t have a nightstick… or handcuffs…”
Stephani rolls her eyes and then tells the boys about the little place she knew of the one that had a water slide, bumper boats, go kart courses and a mini golf course.
“OOOHHH CAN WE MOM CAN WE CAN WE CAN WE!”
Joe is bouncing up and down like a little kid on crack.
“Yes Joseph.”
They arrive five hours later after the three radio interviews and many interviews over the phone. Joe runs straight for the gelato counter and automatically starts to flirt with the girl behind the counter.
They play for seven hours, until it gets to dark to see outside and then they leave.
“Did you get her number Joe?”
“Yea.”
“Does she want to know about your night stick.. And handcuffs?”
“Shut up Steph.”
“So what’s her name Joe?”
“Meg.”
“OOOOHHH JOE AND MEG SITTING IN A TREE K-I-S-S-I-N-G.”
Before Nick or Frankie can finish Joe has smacked both on the back of the head.
“Oh wait til the Jonas fans find out about this one.”
“Excuse me?”
“You know they will find out about her. And she’ll be just another face to add to your collection. But I can proudly say she’s not a blond. Breaking the mold Joe.”
“If you tell anyone Stephani.”
“You’ll what? Tell the world about Kevin and me. There is nothing they don’t know.”
“They don’t know that ring on your finger means your engaged.”
“And they won’t if you want to NOT have to stuff for the rest of your life. And dear gawd boy cut your hair. You look like a dirty girl.”
“I do not!”
Joe’s voice squeaks and Stephani lets out a little laugh before letting go of Kevin’s hand and running away from Joe.
“Princess Josephina!”
And that was the last straw to getting Joe to chase her, but it’s okay cause Kevin was there to protect her, she was his secret and he was her Jonas.
