Chapter 5

With my ipod in hand, I sit down next to Kevin. I glance at Kevin, and realize he was staring at me, Kevin realizes I was looking back at him, so he shyly turned away. He starts to talk to Robert, so I ignored him, and listened to my music. Danielle taps me on my shoulder, so I press pause and waited for her to speak, “Where's Joe?” She asked, I shrug and said “I don't know.” After I finished speaking we heard someone upstairs yell, and then Joe came running downstairs, still yelling Kendall drowned, she's dead!” we all look at Joe, Kevin speaks “Hah hah very funny Joe.” “No, seriously this isn't a joke!” Joe almost shouted. Robert looked terrified “Kendall's dead?” he clarified, “Yeah I went upstairs to use the bathroom, didn't realized Kendall was still in there, so I walked in and found her face down in the tub, thats why I ran down here, I wasn't going to touch her.” Joe said; freaking out, as he spoke he was pacing. Danielle goes over to him, puts a hand on his so he would stop pacing, “Calm down Joe! Stand still.” she told him. He looks at her and finally said “Your right, I'm going to sit, come with me?” “OK, sure” she in response. They went to the couch an d sat, as soon they did Kevin and Robert got up and start upstairs with me trailing behind. As Kevin puts his hand on the door knob, the doorbell rings. Danielle answers the door, my heart starts to race, and I start to sweat. Robert takes charge “We can't let them see Kendall's body we can't let them up here.” Kevin and I nod, and follow Robert down the stairs. Only to meet 2 blonde girls, the tall one steps forward to introduce herself “Hi I'm Lauren, and this is Jessica.” she gestures to the shorter one. “Hi!” Jessica said in a cheerful voice, waving excitedly. “How can you be so cheerful, when our car broke down and we have no warm place to stay the night?!” Lauren asked her, “Well, there is always a bright side to everything, take this situation for example!” Jessica responds; still cheerful. Lauren rolls her eyes at Jessica and asked Where's the restroom?” we exchanged worried looks, but said “Our bathroom is broken, we're working on fixing it, so you can hold it or go outside, your choice.” Lauren groaned and said “I'll be outside if anyone needs me.” I whisper to Danielle “You need to distract Jessica while we get the body out.” she nods and goes to talk to Jessica. Kevin, Robert and I all head upstairs . None of us spoke as we wrapped Kendall in a sheet, and picked her up. Kevin tells me to go downstairs and make sure Danielle was still talking to Jessica. I nod and ran to the corner, I peek around the corner and saw Danielle Jessica standing outside on the porch, still talking. I then ran back to the bathroom and said “They're outside and the porch talking.” “Good now come and help us.” Robert ordered. I look at Robert and for the first time I saw I'm crying. I bet losing his girlfriend like that had to be hard. “What are you looking at? Grab on.” Robert barked. “Sorry.” I apologized for my slowness, and grabbed on Kendall's legs. “On the count to 3, lift her, OK.” Kevin whispers “1...2...3.” she wasn't as heavy as we thought but she wasn't light enough for 1 person to carry. We left the bathroom, and turned the corner when we heard a thump. Kevin turned around and looked at me “My bad, I hit her feet on the wall, she's starting to get heavy.” I explained “Be careful.” Robert growled. We finally made it downstairs, Nick saw us and ran to the back door, he held it open “hurry.” he whispered franticly. We half ran and right, and right when we reach the the door I trip. Kevin lets go of one of her arms and came back and took her feet. “We got it from here, but you can come help bury her is the snow if you want.” he said “No thanks, I'll go talk to Lauren, Danielle, and Jessica.” I reply, “OK, but thanks for trying to help.” Kevin said; joking, “Stop flirting Kevin, we have to hurry.” Robert growled Kevin blushes and they disappear out the door.
