alright guys.. i'm listening to the boys on z100 haha so it was my inspiration to type this out.. but yea, here goes nothing with chapter 1 :]

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

      "School is starting tomorrow" Ashley thought to herself, "and the only thing I did this summer was go to the Jonas Brothers Bash at the Beach" she continued.  A smile came across her face as she remembered how much fun she and her friend Natalie had, even though the two were basically the oldest ones there.  She chuckled as she thought about how the two of them joked about dating Joe and Nick (yes, even though she was 18, Natalie has quite a little crush on Nick haha) white waiting online and how some people actually believed them.

       She was snapped out of her trance as her cell phone rang, she was hoping it was Natalie, who had just moved into her dorm, but it was Alex and Ashley was just as happy to talk to him.  He wanted her to listen to his version of "Hey There Delilah."  She laughed as he sang his twisted version of the song in his very off key voice.  "Babe" She Said, "you know I love you, but you gotta stop singing" as she continued laughing. "Wow, you're dead to me!" Alex Joked.

      She kept laughing as her dad walked into her room then wuickly said, "I gotta go, I'll call you later." and hung up the phone.  The look on her dad's face scared her, he looked way too serious.  "We're not going to be redoing your room anymore." he said as he looked around the room that had been Ashley's since she was three.  Ashley began to get upset, her dad quickly cut her off before she said a single work.  "We're moving." he continued, this only made her more upset.  Tears began to roll down Ashley's face as her dad explained his new job. 

      He started talking about where they were moving to, she didn't hear the name of the town because she was all too excited over the fact that he said they were staying in New Jersey.  She asked, "Are we going north or south?" As she hoped the answer was south and hopefully a beach town, her dad cracked some lame joked about the question, then replied "North, so you would be attending Bergen County College for the spring semester." he continued.  "Spring?!" Ashley did not sound to thrilled about that, "You can't even let me finish a full year at Middlesex?!" She started crying again, thinking of everything she would be leaving behind.  "We're leaving right after your finals," he said, "You'll have plenty of time to meet some kids at school before the second semester begins."  After she soon stopped herself from crying, she replied with, "Just get out." as she turned her back to her father.

      Before Ashley knew it, her and Alex’s one year anniversary had come and gone. And unfortunately, so had their relationship. Once Alex was at school, things only got worse when Ashley told him that her family was moving, they would be four hours apart and nothing but a phone to keep them together. The two realized that it would be in both of their best interest to call things quits, Ashley figured that if it was meant to be, things would work out.

      As she sat in her Psychology class, putting the finishing touches on the essay on her final exam, she remembered that when she got home, she would be moving. A single tear rolled down her cheek, she would not get to say goodbye to any of her friends who were away at school, they weren’t going to be home for a day or two and she was leaving right away.

      Ashley pulled in front of her soon-to-be old home and noticed that her best friends were waiting for her. Danielle, Natalie and Gina were the most important people in Ashley’s life- she didn’t know what she would do without them.

      She jumped out of her car, looked at Natalie and screamed “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” Natalie laughed and said, “I don’t have an exam for a few hours, so I figured I would come say bye to my best friend.” The two smiled at each other and soon all four of them were crying. “Don’t leave, get an apartment with me!” Gina squealed as she had a death grip on Ashley. She laughed and said, “Don’t you remember, we already suggested that.” Her parents just didn’t want her to leave. Danielle spoke out and said, “Where’s that good-for-nothing boy of yours? Too good to come and say goodbye?” “Now that’s not fair,” Ashley said, “he has an exam tomorrow morning.” “He’d be here if he really cared.” Natalie said. Danielle chimed in, “Yea, good riddance!”

      The four continued chatting while Ashley’s dad filled the moving van up. Her mom was already up at the new house, and Ashley would be following her dad in her own car. It was soon time to say goodbye, and she promised she would keep in touch with them all and that she would come visit on weekends. “Tell those cute north Jersey boys to come visit with you sometime.” Ashley laughed and said, “Please, honestly, when was the last time you found a decent boy in Jersey?” They all laughed and Ashley’s dad honked the horn on the van signaling her that it was time to go. One last hug, and it was time to hit the road. As she put the car in drive, she looked at the house. Her old bedroom window was staring her in the face. “Goodbye.” Ashley said as she hit the gas and drove away from her home of sixteen years.

      About an hour later they arrived in Bergen County, Ashley soon drove past a sign that said, “Welcome to Wyckoff” she chucked and continued to follow her dad. “Home, sweet home.” she joked to herself. A few minutes later, Ashley pulled up in front of her new home. It was a cute house, much bigger than the one the family had previously lived in, and the street was much wider. She pointed that out to her dad and they both laughed, their previous street was ridiculously tiny. “Your stuff came up with your mom this morning.” her dad changed the subject, “So everything should be up in your room already. Up the stairs, second door on the right.” he continued as he saw the confused expression on his daughters face. She smiled and darted inside.

      “Here goes nothing.” she said out loud as she stood in front of the door to her new bedroom. Ashley opened the door and looked inside, she smiled at the color of her walls, bright orange, her dad knew her so well. She noticed her mom had already set her computer up so she sat down and signed onto AIM, put an away message up and opened iTUNES and put it on shuffle.

      “We’re going to go see the town.” her mom yelled up the stairs. Ashley turned her music down, replied “Alright!” and decided to go take a shower. About ten minutes later, she came out of the bathroom, threw on some cheering clothes and opened a box labeled “BEDDING” the new sheets she wanted were in the box, “Looks like we’re redoing my room after all.” she thought to herself and smiled.

      She walked over to another box, pulled out some framed pictures and placed them on her dresser. She sat down, put on some make-up and just as she finished she heard the door bell ring. “Perfect timing” she said to herself then yelled, “Coming!” and headed down the stairs. “Who is it?” she said once arriving at the door. The person on the other side said, “Joe, I live next door.” in a rather upbeat tone.  Ashley opened the door and couldn’t believe her eyes, just as quick as she opened the door, she slammed it shut. “Oh my sweet Jonas!” she whispered to herself with her back to the door.
