“Aww… that’s so cute.” Rachel said, reading over my shoulder. “Can I have the address?”
“No way. You don’t even like Nick.”
“I know. I like Joe.” I gave her a look.
“Fine.” I was too engrossed in my letter that I almost forgot about her. She sighed. “ I guess I’ll call you later.”
“Thanks.” Rachel gave me a hug and wished me happy birthday and walked across the grass to her house next door. I waited until she was inside then ran into the door screaming.
“Maddy. What’s wrong?” my mom said.
“Nothing. This. Is. Just. The. Best. Birthday. Ever.” I said out of breath.
“What do you mean? Are the Jonas Brothers coming to town?” She knew me too well.
“No, even better.” I handed her the envelope. “Remember that letter I sent in the fifth grade wanting to meet Nick Jonas?” She read through the letter.
“Oh my God.” She said in shock.
“I KNOW!” I squealed. “I am going to write him back!” She handed the letter back to me.
“Congratulations and how does it feel to be fifteen?”
“It’s the best feeling in the world.” I skipped off to my room, and started to blast some Jonas music. I sat down at my desk and pulled out a sheet of tie dyed stationary paper and addressed the envelope. What was I going to say? He seems so normal, but you just can’t overlook the fact that he is a rock star. I decided to just start with facts. And with that, I started to write.
Dear Nick,
You can just call me Maddy. Or Madeline. What ever you prefer. Obviously I live in the same house. And thanks. Seriously. This is the best birthday present ever, way better than the time that we went to Disney World for my birthday. (Yes, October 3rd.) I still can’t believe you replied back. I mean, it’s been five years! Back when you were on Broadway, there was no band, no ‘Bonus Jonas’, and none of your awesome music. I am a diehard fan, just not one of those fans that think you’re hot. I love your music and the message the lyrics send. I am actually listening to Time for Me to Fly. Gosh, I miss the old days when you still had that high squeaky voice. And I don’t know if you remember that one time you had a meet and greet at that show in your hometown on the twenty fourth of September. That girl who made you that diabetes dog tag cover, the tie-dye one with your Jonas emblem on it, that was me. I hope you liked it. Well, I am sort of rambling on and on. I am afraid I won’t stop. LOL. Well, I have emails and myspaces and stuff, so I will include them at the bottom. It will be easier to keep in touch that way. Unless you don’t want to keep in touch. That’s really okay though. You know, too much excitement might just kill me. (Kidding.)
Peace, Love, Jonas!
Maddy
P.S. I promise I won’t tell anyone. I didn’t even let Rachel (my best friend) have Big Rob’s niece’s address. So you can trust me.
Myspace (I am already your friend): Madeline Thompson is my name… (I will keep my display as a pic of us at the meet and greet. I am wearing an orange shirt with your faces on it.)
AIM: I_am_sugar_free_for_Nick (Yah, sorry bout that… I was in the “super obsessed name-everything-after-you stage)
Hotmail: Guitar_chick
P.P.S. Tell everyone I said hi!
Peace!
