hey, can't sleep. too excited, so i decided to post more. here's the next chapter.
“Wow, riding roller coasters never gets old.” I said. Everyone nodded in agreement. “So how ‘bout we go on Mouse Trap next?” I asked. “They take pictures on that ride and me and my family always loved doing funny poses for them.”
“That sounds like fun” Kevin said.
“Yeah, and I have an idea.” Joe said mischievously.
Joe’s idea was Nick and I would ride in the front with Joe behind me and Kevin right next to him. Then I would pretend to be asleep while the guys made faces at me. It was simple but sounded like fun. So we all agreed and we were off in pursuit of the ride. Right after we found it we walked past a group of about 15 girls. They were all talking and laughing, but when we walked past them they all stopped and started whispering.
Kevin noticed this and gave his brothers the head nod (clearly they were used to doing this sort of thing). Then we all stopped and waited for the group of girls to come over, which of course they did. Come over that is. They were all very excited and asked for pictures and autographs. At first I was in between Joe and Nick, but without anyone realizing it I was pushed away by the girls. Cast off to the side.
I stood there away to the side for a while hoping that someone would notice I wasn’t there and beckon me to come back to the group. No one did. So I stood there a little while longer watching the guys answer questions, signing autographs, taking pictures, and having a really great time. They were laughing and joking with the girls and my heart almost broke in two.
They probably don’t even notice I’m gone. I thought sadly. Then an even worse thought entered my head, what if they know I’m gone and don’t want me back?
I couldn’t bear it anymore so I turned and walked towards the Mouse Trap. I got in line while a little part of me hoped the guys would remember our plans and come back. The other part of me, the bigger part, kept telling me that of course this was gonna happen. No way would the Jonas Brothers want to hang out with a dork like me. It’s a miracle they hung out with me this long, but that’s probably only because they’re too nice to tell me to get lost.
I was just making myself sadder and I felt so stupid standing in line by myself so I decided to get out of the line and maybe find my family. I walked off and didn’t notice an empty cup that was lying on the ground, which I promptly tripped on. I braced myself for the hurt that was about to come, but strangely it didn’t.
“Wow, nice reflexes Nick.” Kevin commented.
I looked up and sure enough Nick was there holding onto me, his face etched with concern.
“You okay?” he asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks to you saving me.” I replied softly.
“Well I always wanted to save a damsel in distress.” He said with his charming grin that made my heart race. He was still holding me our faces inches apart.
I chuckled softly, “Hey, Nick?”
“Yeah?” he replied.
“Ummmmm…..” I looked at the ground and then at him holding me in his arms. Nick got what I was trying to say.
“Oh,” he said while blushing. Then he helped me to my feet.
“Hey, what happened to you? Why did you leave?” Joe questioned a little harsh as if I personally insulted them by leaving.
“I didn’t leave.” I snapped, “I was shoved away. Your crazy fans pushed me.” Then I added more softly, “ and you guys didn’t notice and you looked like you were having such a good time, I figured I wasn’t wanted anymore. So I left.”
Joe’s face softened, “Hey, we’re sorry we didn’t notice that you were gone, but there was like a million girls surrounding us. It’s amazing we got out of there alive. Plus we haven’t gotten our picture taken yet. Of course we wouldn’t want you to leave.”
Kevin added his two cents in, “Yeah, we’ve been having an amazing time with you. It’s been a lot of fun. So let’s go on that ride now.”
“Kay,” I said then added more softly as I looked at the ground, “I thought you guys wouldn’t want to hang out with a stupid ugly klutz like me.”
When I looked up I saw Kevin and Joe jogging to the line. Apparently none of them heard the last part I said. Good, I thought, I don’t want their pity and I’m not fishing for compliments. I didn’t even mean to say that out loud. That was one of my own personal private thoughts.
I turned to walk to the line but Nick grabbed my arm and stopped me. “Hey,” he said as he quickly glanced back at his brothers making sure that they weren’t looking. “If you’re a klutz, which I don’t think is true, you’re the most amazing beautiful smartest funniest klutz I’ve ever met.” He smiled and then jogged over to his brothers.
Wow, I thought, I guess someone did hear me. Maybe he likes me. Nah, I quickly discarded that thought, someone as amazing as him couldn’t fall for someone like me. He was just being nice, I concluded as I joined the guys in line. But it was still nice of him to say that, I thought as I smiled really big.
(so what do you guys think so far?)
