So, looking at it, Chapter 6 was pretty short...well, this one is too. But, here is the next chapter, cause everyone is awesome about leaving me lurve.
Chapter 7:
“I’m sorry, Nisha.” Joe whispered as we entered the bus. I chose to ignore him and went straight to my assigned bunk. He decided to follow me. “Talk to me, please.”
“Nisha, could you make some more of that breakfast stuff you made yesterday? It was really good.” Nick grinned, poking his head in my bunk space.
“Sure, Nick. I’ll get on that once we start rolling.” His head disappeared. I rolled over so I wouldn’t be facing Joe.
“Nisha.” He whined. I was still mad. “Nisha…you can’t be mad at me forever.” I had to bite my tongue to keep from rolling over and pointing out just how wrong that statement was. “Fine.” He walked away from me. He went and sat with his brothers. I could hear their conversation, and felt no shame in eavesdropping.
“Women.” Joe muttered under his breath.
“What did you do, Joe?” Kevin asked. I grinned. Maybe Kevin wouldn’t be so difficult to befriend after all.
“Why do you always assume it’s me?”
“Because you’re always the one to screw things up.” Nick added.
“Just go grovel and do whatever it takes to fix this. Cause, I’m telling you now, I’d trade you for a slice of that pie she made the other day.” Kevin said.
“It was awesome even without sugar.” Nick said in agreement with Kevin. I covered my mouth with my hand to muffle the sound of my giggles. All of a sudden, Joe appeared.
“You know, it’s rude to listen in on other people’s conversations.”
“Ah, but it’s so much fun. Especially when your brothers say they will disown you for dessert.” I started laughing, and he smiled. “I’m still mad at you.” I said seriously. “You really hurt me last night.”
“I know. And I’m sorry. And you were right; the world doesn’t revolve around me. I just…”
“I know, Joe. And if you ever do decide to tell them the truth, I’ll support you, whatever the outcome.”
“Are we ok now?” I nodded. “Maybe we should kiss.” I started to say something, but he cut me off. “Nick and Kev are staring at us. They are going to expect it.” I rolled my eyes and pushed him out of the bunk.
