Before It's Too Late
Prologue
Joe sat on the couch, his head in hands. Kevin sat beside him, trying to figure out the right thing to say.
“What am I supposed to do, Kev?” Joe looked up at his older brother, “She’s making the biggest mistake of her life.”
“I know, Joe. You told her what you told me, right?” he asked. Joe let out a frustrated sigh.
“Yeah. I told her how much I love her, and how sorry I am, but she said it didn’t matter anymore. I don’t know what else to do.” He looked down at his hands feeling defeated.
“Show her.” Kevin said simply.
“Huh?” Joe looked up at Kevin, confused.
“Show Katie how much you love her. It’s one thing to say it, I mean I’m sure she hears it, but she needs to see it, to believe it. So…show her how much you love her, before it’s too late.” Kevin explained.
“Show her? How am I supposed to do that?” Joe breathed.
“I wish I knew what to tell you. I could tell you what I would do, but this isn’t about what I would do. You’ll figure it out, Joe. You are a Jonas after all,” Kevin cracked a smile.
Joe became lost in his thoughts. Kevin’s words echoed in his mind. Show her, show her how much you love her, before it’s too late. Suddenly, it was like someone had turned on a switch in Joe’s head. He jumped to his feet.
“I’ve got it!” he said excitedly. “I know what I’m going to do. I’ll need your help, and Nick’s too.”
“Whatever you need, Joe,” Kevin replied standing to his feet. As they went to find Nick, Joe explained his plan to Kevin, who nodded in approval.
“It’s going to work. It has to work. If it doesn’t….if I lose her…” Joe trailed off.
“Think positive, Joe. This is going to work,” Kevin tried to reassure his brother.
Lord, please let this work. Kevin prayed silently.
