Ok...Chapter 10...part A I think
“Can’t sleep?” Kevin looked up to see Nick sitting up in his own bed.
“Thank you Captain Obvious.” Kevin said, rubbing his eyes and sitting up himself.
“What’s bugging you?” Kevin suddenly felt guilty. Nick seemed genuinely concerned, and here he was, being a jerk.
“Sorry. I just…it feels weird. I haven’t been able to sleep for more than like an hour at a time for, oh, I dunno…like since we’ve been on tour. But I’m not sleepy. I don’t understand why I’m not collapsing from exhaustion.”
“You got something on your mind?” Nick asked. Kevin shrugged.
“I’m still kinda pissed about what Joe did. He knew I was planning on bringing Mona on this tour with us. I just don’t get why everyone seems to be against my happiness.”
“Hey, hold up. No one is against your happiness. Not me, not Joe, not anyone. We just know that she…” Kevin held up a hand, effectively silencing his younger brother.
“Please, no ‘siren’ talk tonight. I don’t believe all that crap.”
“So, you conveniently also don’t believe Joe and Nisha being vampires? Or Zee and I being…”
“Look, just cause you guys managed to get with supernatural women doesn’t mean Mona is one, or that she’s out to kill me. And anyway, even if she WAS a siren, which I don’t believe, we’ve never been to the ocean together, so there’s nothing for you to worry about.”
“Kevin, think about it. Nisha knew Zee was a werewolf before any of us knew it. Don’t you think it’s possible that they can know Mona is a siren?” Da.mn. Nick’s reasoning made sense. Before Kevin could object, Nick continued. “But you’re right. Let’s not talk about this tonight. In my bag is a bottle of sleeping pills. Take two, and get some sleep.” Nick lay back down and curled up under the covers. Kevin got up and rummaged through Nick’s bag until he found the bottle of sleeping pills. He took the bottle into the bathroom and flipped on the light. He double checked the label, and then popped two of the pills into his mouth. He didn’t even bother with water when he swallowed them. Then, he turned the light off, dropped the bottle back into Nick’s bag, and crawled into his hotel bed once more. It wasn’t even a half hour before Kevin finally drifted into a deep sleep.
