Just How It Goes

Prologue

The four girls sat waiting; waiting in the silence of the night. It was a ritual of the sisters, the eve of the first day of summer. A day when the oldest girls got to talking about everything and anything under the sun. Or, if you really think about it, under the moon. They all sat around in the eldest’s room, one flash light clasped in their hands.

The first day of summer before the twins last summer before college. One last time when they would all be together for the summer. They talked and laughed and giggled and gossiped. The normal things for all teenage girls to do. When asked if they were crushing on anyone, they all thought about the group of brothers that lived just next door.

None of them were ready for what this summer was going to bring to them.
