WAHOOO!! I'm sooo excited about this you guys! Wow, I never would have thought when I started Always There Beside Me that it would turn into something like this! It NEVER would have crossed my mind that I would be doing a trilogy out of my three shot idea! And it's all thanks to you guys! This never would have gotten this far if it hadn't been for all of my LOVELY readers! Ok, I'm going to stop being all sappy and crap and get on with this thing! Just to be on the safe side, I'm posting the links for the first two, incase someone's new and hasn't read those. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as the first two!!!

Chapter 1

Nick and I couldn't have been happier as we walked through our front door with our first child. Nate and I had been released from the hospital that afternoon, both of us in perfect health. All of the nurses were sad to see him leave, seeing as he was the quietest baby in the nursery; which, of course, lead everyone to say that he was just like his father.

His father.

That fact alone filled me with a whole new love for Nick, a whole new dimension to our relationship as husband and wife. Never in a million years would I have thought that Nick and I would together make a baby. But we did, and I couldn't imagine my life any other way.

I smiled and sighed happily, but the sound of Nick talking broke me from my thoughts.

"Well, welcome home, Nate." he smiled, stepping over to me and looking down at the small bundle I was holding. "You ready for the grand tour?"

Nate just blinked slowly as he stared up at Nick.

"I'll take that as a yes." Nick half laughed before carefully taking Nate from me.

I could only smile at how gentle Nick was with him. Everytime he went to pick him up or do anything with him, it was like Nate was the most fragile piece of glass and one wrong move would shatter him to a million pieces. Nothing on earth was more precious in Nick's eyes than his son. I could tell that simply by the way he looked at him. It was like his whole life was represented in that one little person that we had made together.

I followed as Nick carried Nate into the living room.

"Here we have the living room." Nick announced, turning around so that Nate could see everything. "It's pretty cool. The TV's in here and the couch is really comfy. Especially when mommy snuggles with you on it.

I smiled and shook my head as Nick looked over and winked at me.

Next Nick took Nate into the kitchen.

"And in here's the kitchen. This is where all of the food is. I swear, your mother is the best cook ever."

"Hey now!" I spoke up as I walked over to them. "Your daddy's not half bad either. If you're lucky, when you get older and grow teeth he'll make his special double chocolate panckakes for you. "

Nick smiled before leaning over and kissing my cheek. We then continued on through the house, showing Nate the dining room, the back yard, and then on down to Nick's basement studio. Nate seemed particularly interested when Nick sat down at his drum set with him and started tapping on the snare with his fingers.

"Oh great, now you've got him addicted, just like you." I sighed, but smiling as I did.

"Aw, come on. You know you love my addiction." Nick smiled as he got up and walked back over to me.

"True." I smiled as well, leaning up to kiss Nick softly once he got over to me.

It didn't last long, though, because we both soon felt Nate squirming in Nick's arms between us.

"Sorry, buddy." Nick laughed as we pulled apart.

"Aww, do you want a kiss too?" I laughed as well before leaning down and softly kissing Nate's cheek. I swear I saw a hint of a smile in his eyes.

"See, told ya your mom was a good kisser." Nick then said.

I just rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Let's show you the upstairs." Nick said, turning to go back up the basement stairs.

We then left the basement and headed to the staircase that lead us to the upstairs portion of the house, where Nick immediatly turned and entered our room.

"Now this is the best room in the house." he told Nate as he walked towards the bed. "This is mommy and daddy's bedroom. And this bed right here is where you got started."

"Now don't you go corrupting him, Nicholas! I want him to be normal for at least a few years of his life." I said, trying to scold him but unable to keep a smile off of my face.

"Well it's true! And it'll be a while before he even knows what were talking about." Nick replied.

I just smiled and shook my head, stepping closer to look down at Nate. All of the excitment of the day must have finally gotten to him because his eyes were starting to droop as he began to fall asleep in Nick's arms.

"Aww, poor thing." I smiled as I took him from Nick. "Come on, let's get you to your crib."

Nick followed as I carried Nate down the hall and into the nursery. My aunt had finished it a few days before, so everything was in place and ready to go. I layed Nate down on the changing table and gently slipped off the blue sleeper he had been given at the hospital. I then turned to see Nick standing beside me, already with a clean sleeper in hand.

"Why thank you, new daddy." I grinned as I took it from him.

"Anything for you, new mommy." Nick replied as he leaned over and kissed my neck.

I smiled and proceeded to carefully dress Nate in the sleeper Nick had chosen. I couldn't help but laugh softly when I saw that Nick had handed me the sleeper we had found a month earlier at a Disney store. It was green with a picture of Peter Pan fighting Capitan Hook on the front.

"You would." I whispered, smiling at Nick as I picked Nate up and carried him over to his crib.

Not even two seconds after I layed him down and covered him up, he fell asleep. I couldn't help but smile down at him and watch as my son slept soundly, slight snores coming from his tiny nose.

"You know, we made a pretty good looking little boy." Nick whispered as he came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my shoulder.

"We sure did." I sighed, leaning back into him. "He gets it from his father."

"Must be one lucky guy." Nick replied jokingly. "But you know what? I'll bet the next one will look just as beautiful." Nick whispered in my ear.

"It's a little early to be thinking about any more, don't you think?" I laughed softly.

"I know." Nick shrugged. "But that doesn't mean we can't get ready for when we do want more." he whispered in my ear again, only this time in that seductive tone that he knew always drove me wild.

I grinned and grabbed his hand, leading him quietly towards the door. After turning on the star nightlight for Nate, I quietly shut the door, leaving it open a crack so that we could hear Nate if he woke up, before pulling Nick down the hall to our room. I could hear him laughing softly behind me as I lead him into our room and pushed him so that he was sitting on the edge of the bed before climbing into his lap and kissing him passionatly.

"You know...........this is........so much..........easier............without...........you being.........pregant." Nick commented in between kisses down my neck.

"Hmmm, you can say that again." I sighed happily, burring my fingers in his hair as he continued on down to my shoulder and chest.

I was seconds away from ripping Nick's shirt off, but we were interupted by a blood curdling scream coming from the nursery.

I jumped off of Nick and ran full speed down the hall, Nick right on my tail. We burst into the nursery and ran over to the crib where Nate was crying his little head off. I was seriously about to cry myself! I was so scared that something was terribly wrong! But my fears soon proved to be for nothing. As soon as I picked Nate up and started rocking him in my arms, he stopped crying and settled down.

Nick and I smiled at each other, relief in our eyes, but both thinking the same thing. Our lives were never going to be the same.

hahaha thanks, Jay! Of course you'd be the first to comment! lol Glad your as excited about it as I am! I could hardly sit still when I was posting it!!!! And that's a problem considering I'm the only one awake and want to keep it that way. lol

And yeah, I kept thinking about that too! Please don't corrupt him, Nick! Do you really want to do that to your son! Don;t make him turn out like us!!!

hahaha true. and that's only because I stay up way to late most nights. lol if my dad knew I was up he'd shoot me. (he's the type of person that can wake up and three in the morning and think nothing of it)

well at least it's better than what I'm doing! my little bro has surgery tomorrow, so I'm gonna be at the hospital for that. woopie.
