The Beginning of Her End
She sat alone on the bench. The pouring rain made her blonde hair damp, and her silver eyes were closed. The mascara flowed down her eyes, leaving a black streak on her cheek. Her nose was red, showing that she had been crying. Her lips occasionally twitched, trying not to cry again. Because she fears something. She fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down. People had told her to Stand in the Rain, and to stand her ground. But they had no idea how hard it was to stand up when it was all crashing down.
She felt lost in her own world. It was moving far too quickly, causing her to have to run to keep up. Her priorities were mixed up. She was running quickly. She was running a hundred miles an hour, in the wrong direction.
The steeples at her school were filled with hatred. They were judgmental. Not being able to see past the scarlet leather she was adorned with.
Can anybody see this girl? Can anybody see that she might not come to school tomorrow? Can anybody see that today was her last day? Not in school, not in some program.
Can anybody see that she is going down today?
