The TV droned on and on, intruding my thoughts. I was pacing back and forth in the dark room, the TV making a light glow. I was waiting for my boyfriend of two years to come home from tour. A blanket was wrapped around my shoulders, my flannel pajama pants laying low on my hips, tank top raised a few inches over my belly button. First he wasn’t there and suddenly, he was. The door burst open, and he ran through. ‘Joe!” The blanket dropped from my shoulders and I held my arms above my head as I ran toward him. He held his arms open and swept me upwards when my body hit his, holding me above him. Our noses touched, and he said, “I love you so much, Ava.” Then we kissed. As if we might never do it again. He still held me, my legs wrapped around his waist, his arms holding my waist, my arms holding his neck. He started walking towards my bedroom, not ever breaking the kiss. He dropped me down on the bed, then smiled, his brown eyes glinting in the soft moonlight He went back in and we kissed again. I felt his cool hands slide up my shirt, touching the skin on my stomach. The next thing, I knew, we were both In our underwear, his warm breath lingered on my ear. “You sure?” I was sure I loved him. I was sure he loved me. I nodded.
