I'm a girl. I wouldn't say I'm a normal girl, just an average one. I am 17, and will be a senior as soon as school starts up again in the fall. I don't really care what other people think, and am not obsessed with anything really...well, not looks or anything like that, at least. Me any my best friend are ,however, in love with the Jonas Brothers. We wouldn't call it an obbsession, but other people would...
Chapter One
I was basically dying as I drove to my best friend, Hayley's, house. I had some BIG news for her, and sure, living in a small town like this one, someone buying a used '95 Buick was big news, but this was HUGE.
She was waiting on the front steps of her house when I pulled up because I had called her about 10 minutes ago telling her I was coming over. Before I was even out of my car she was running up to me, practically screaming, "Hayden!? What's up? You sounded like you were going to explode on the phone!"
"I know, I know!" I was having trouble getting my thoughts out into words, that actually happened a lot to me, escpecially when I was feeling basically any emotion at all, including excitement.
"Well?!" Hayley shouted, clearly impatient with me.
I decided to just say it, black and white; that was usually best for me in situations like these, "I'm going to L.A. for the rest of the summer!" I could already tell what Hayley was thinking, maybe she was easy to read, maybe I was just good at reading people, but either way I could tell she was just as excited as I was.
I didn't have to wait long to see that I was right. About 5 seconds later her eyes had grown so wide it looked like it hurt. "What!?!! How?! Why!?" was all it looked like she could say.
I couldn't help but smile the whole time I was explaining to her. "Well, you know how it's just me and my mom?" she nodded at this point, "Well, since she and her boyfriend broke up, she wants to get out of town! And since we both have always wanted to go there, she said now would be the perfect time!"
"Oh my gosh I'm so excited for you!" Hayley squealed at me.
"I know! Hahaha! And I am so gonna take my guitar and play on the sidewalk like I always said I was going to when I was kid!" I told her, wondering if she would get my subtle joke.
"Hahaha! Said?" Hayley said, "More like threatened! Whenever your mom would get mad you would say you were skippiing college to play on the sidewalks!" Of course she got it, she got everything I did.
As we talked my excitement grew, and I knew that even though Hayley wasn't going with me, this would be the best summer ever.
